Name of Band:
Ryan Paul & THE ARDENT

Ryan Paul & THE ARDENT is a Minneapolis indie rock band led by Ryan Paul Plewacki. “With a reedy conversational singing voice that recalls Television’s Tom Verlaine, a degree in working-man’s rock riffs from the Drive By Truckers school, and hard-won wisdom to spare, Plewacki and his band are rapidly rising on the local roots-rock scene.” – City Pages
It took a near-death breakdown across the country to help Ryan Paul find his voice. The Minneapolis native entered the music scene in 1999 as Jeremy Ylvisaker’s (Andrew Bird/Alpha Consumer) guitar tech and began playing guitar and touring with a smattering of Twin Cities art-rock bands.
By 2004, however, Paul lost himself in a haze of drug and alcohol addiction and eventually disappeared out east. It took nearly four years for Ryan to hit rock bottom and finally return home, with help of his family, to start his life and musical career over, sober and invigorated with direction and focus.
Originally intended as a one-time project in 2008, the band emerged as a vehicle for Ryan’s sincere songwriting – a genre-bending brand of Minneapolis rock rooted in Paul’s personal struggles and story. Gathering band of veteran Minneapolis musicians, including Paul’s father on second guitar , local synth artist, Cory Eischen, and acclaimed drummer, Steve Goold, the band is currently working on their third studio effort with help from The Honeydogs' frontman, Adam Levy.
There are none at this time.
