Vita.mn wants to discover the best new local band!

How does it work?

Are you a new band, or maybe a great yet-to-be discovered local band? Nominate yourself! If you're not in a local band, but know of a great one, we need you to encourage them to enter.

On Feb. 15, three finalists will be selected from all nominees to play Vita.mn's Are You Local? SXSW Sendoff showcase at First Avenue on March 2, 2012. During the show, one of the finalists will be crowned "best new local band."

Can I still play if the contest has already started?

Yes. Nominations will be accepted until Feb. 13, 2012.

Are there prizes?

Yes. In addition to playing the Are You Local? SXSW Sendoff showcase on March 2, each of the three finalists will be profiled in Vita.mn. The winning band will take home even more goodies, including a spot in the Mainroom lineup at the Sendoff show, and a gig in Austin, Texas at Vita.mn's MN Music showcase. Additionally, IPR will award the winning band with two days of studio time in Master Mix, and a CD pressing of up to 200 CDs.
